Transdisciplinary artist Laiz was born in the city of Jundiaí in the state of São Paulo in 1999 and relocated to Germany in 2019, where she made her mark on the Berlin jazz scene by blending Latin, jazz, and Afrobeat with Brazilian hip-hop. In 2021, Laiz transitioned from live freestyle performances at festivals like Folk n Fusion and collective-based jams such as Sonic Interventions and Soul-Fam to producing studio recordings with jazz and hip-hop beat producers Young.Vishnu and Pachakuti. With the support of Initiative Musik, Agogo Records, and Besser Samstag Laiz's debut double LP with The New Love Experience "Ela Partiu" is set to be unveiled in April 2024. Laíz aims with her music to bring the Sun of the South and the São Paulo Urban culture to the jazz and Hip-Hop scnene in Europe. Blending multiple genres with political and cultural messages of Latino America.
